Fits all your needs right by Centro Historico

This was our second stay. Overall, it is a well-run, great simple place. Check-in went really well, the room was clean (except for one dead bug in the sheets which I suspect came from the laundry service and not the hotel itself) and it's always the same great location close to everything.

The central yard echoes through the entire hotel and it can be loud at night. We had a group that showed up at 4 in the morning and it looks like the staff didn't ask them (or was not able to make them) to keep it down. The friendliness of the front office varies depending on who is working at any time. I am glad we were welcome by this sweet lady we met on our first stay.

The room is clean and comfortable. It's location is also good, not far from the airport and we can walk around the historic center. The staff is kind to help us for different requirments.

I don't like the photo on the wall with piles of skulls on it. It makes me a little uncomfortable. And the window and the water tap is not so convenient to use.

Great value, in historic centre, lovely roof terrace, spotless rooms, helpful kindly staff.

We returned to HTM at the end of our trip around Mexico, because we knew it was well-run, clean, secure, quiet, comfortable. The location is superb - near the Zocalo, and the Zocalo metro (for trips to Xochimilco), and the Abelardo market for fruit and vegetables. We ate our fruit and veg on the lovely roof terrace. The streets nearby are busy, chaotic and, walking back at night we experienced the odd drunk shouting at the gringos, but one of the streets is pedestrianised, so the rooms are quiet. The rooms are on 3 floors around a central space, but there was no noise at night from other residents. We could get coffee (instant with powdered milk) from Reception for $20, and they serve tequila and other spirits. Alvaro was very helpful and attentive, as were all the staff. The cleaners are always visible, changing rooms, mopping floors and emptying bins. The place was spotless.

room hot at night (interior room), have some clothes hooks on the walls, have a large water bottle of water on the main floor not the (small water bottles) cheaper for the hotel than the small water bottles, have a shampoo dispensor on the wall instead of the small plastic bottles

Wonderful

The hotel is in the middle of the historic area, so busy with people, shops, traffic. The location is fantastic - a stroll away from the Templo Mayor excavations and museum, and the Zocalo. The hotel is an oasis of quiet and calm, very well organised, and Reception was permanently manned. The street outside our.rooms was pedestrianized, so there was no noise at night. We felt safe and that our stuff was secure. The staff were all extremely helpful and pleasant. The rooms were minimalist, but comfortable and clean, with water provided every day. Coffee and some drinks were available at Reception. The roof terrace was a delight. Excellent value.

Maybe a bedside light could be provided.

We left feeling violated and abused.

The value for the stay. We were just passing through.

We arrived on Saturday evening around 6:30 pm. In my on-line communications, I had requested 2 rooms next to each other and said we would arrive around 3:00 p.m., time of check in allowed. The hotel confirmed my request. We were coming from Grutas Tolangtongo and required 3 buses and a taxi to get us to Hotel Templo Mayor. Senora Aluaro was the person who checked us in. She took our passports to make copies. I told her in my broken Spanish that the rooms were paid on-line and no passport copies were necessary. My concern was our private information on the passports were copied for what reason? Senora Aluaro was so authoritative and would not back down. With confirmation that the 2 rooms would be next to each other. Well, got 2 rooms, one in room 207 and the other in room 303. We were tired and hungry. We decided to let it go. . We asked Senora Aluaro if she could call us a cab to a restaurant? She answered us sarcastically, " Cab"? Will she called someone and told us to paid her 250 pesos for a ride to the restaurant. My son used the UBER App and found it costs around 145 pesos. Then she said we have to pay her and we questioned her why should we pay you instead of the cab driver. So, she changed her story and said we can pay the cab driver or her. In summary, Senora Aluaro need to answer us why copies of our passport were necessary to stay at the prepaid booked rooms on line with BOOKING.Com ? The confirmed prepaid reservation for 2 rooms next to each other which ended up on 2 different floors? Were the passport copies destroyed after our one night stay? Why she felt she can collect for cab fees? Her requested charges is clearly almost double the price compared to UBER? We left feeling violated and abused.
